Sharkproof Living (SPL) has begun donating the book “Sharkproof Living: A 7 Step Journey to Financial Independence on your own terms” to nonprofits. This effort is part of the Financial Literacy Campaign and addresses the number one financial regret people have, namely, not starting to save and invest in their 20s and 30s. At $3, the eBook serves as a low-cost, high impact option for people to begin their financial literacy journey.
StreetCents Corporation was selected as the first beneficiary. The eBook will be given to their volunteers, staff, and the adults (18 and older) they serve. StreetCents (https://streetcents.org) is a 501(c)(3) that provides technical, financial, and strategic training to youth and adults in several countries.
Additional nonprofits will be added as funds become available.
It is also hoped that businesses will use the same approach with the nonprofits and community groups they care about and provide the same entry point. The goal is simple: help more adults avoid the financial regret of waiting too long to start saving and investing.
